Disbursement Information

financial aid disbursement dates - Higher One has begun mailing access cards to Coast College students; if, you received a card last year, you will not receive another card unless your card has expired. When you receive your access card, you'll need to use the card to select your payment options for enrollment fee refunds and financial aid disbursements. There are free methods for you to receive your funds without opening a Higher One banking account:
    Electronic Deposit (ACH) into your personal checking or savings account
    Paper check

    If you open a Higher One account, avoid fees by using these methods:

    Higher One ATM on campus for withdrawals
    Using your debit card with a swipe and sign option at merchants (select credit when checking out and sign your name) do not use the PIN option as this may incur fees.

You can change your method of payment at any time - just log into your Higher One account and make the changes.

If you have questions, please attend a Higher One workshop on your campus. Check with the campus financial aid office for dates/times of the workshops.

​For all Pell Grant eligible students who have completed their files and have been awarded and the awards have been accepted, the first 25% Pell Grant disbursement (first Friday of the term) is your disbursement for books and supplies. If you have questions regarding this disbursement, please contact your campus financial aid office.

All awards must be "accepted" through your online financial aid account before awards can be disbursed. If you need assistance with this process, please visit your campus financial aid office. In order for awards to be disbursed, all students are checked for satisfactory academic progress (http://www.cccd.edu/students/financial-aid/Pages/Satisfactory-Academic-Progress-Policy.aspx) and enrollment status. Enrollment status is:

Full time                   12.0 - or more units

Three Quarter time     9-11.99

Half time                    6-8.99

Less than Half time     .055 - 5.99

All semesters/terms have the same enrollment status, including summer session.

September 4, 2015   

​Pell Grant - 25% (for those students who did not receive a Pell Grant payment on August 28, 2015)

All documents submitted, review completed, and awards accepted by August 26, 2015.

FSEOG - 100%

Cal Grant - 100%

Direct Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) - 100% for those students who are continuing students and have prior loans unless this is a Fall only loan; two payments will be made

Perkins Loans - 100%

FINAL PAYMENTS FOR 14-15 - all funds.

All documents submitted, review completed, and awards accepted by September 7, 2015.

Direct Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) 100% for new students, new borrowers; except those students who have Fall only loans; two payments will be made.

October 23, 2015

October 30, 2015   

​Pell Grant funds for those students who did not receive the first two Pell Grant disbursements.

All documents submitted, review completed, and awards accepted by October 12, 2015.


Freeze Date - enrollment adjustments (up and down) Students must have dropped or added classes before 12:59 on October 29. October 30 at 00:01 units will be adjusted to the current enrolled units.
